Ayurveda for the Winter Season
Baby it’s cold, windy and dry outside! According to Ayurveda, winter is the Vata season, the time of year when the air and space elements are dominant. Too much air and space makes for dry skin, erratic digestive power, worn down immunity, and an unsteady mind. The ancient healing system of Ayurveda recommends a soothing diet and grounding routines to offset the potential for seasonally induced imbalances. Join Loren in the studio on Jan 6 from 4pm -5:30pm for a 90 min Vata Season Workshop. Learn more about how to use Ayurveda to cultivate stability inside and out. The first half of the workshop will be focused on how to incorporate Vata balancing foods and spices, how to do a therapeutic oil massage, and what other daily routines to prioritize for optimal health in winter. The second half will be a warming, grounding yoga practice which will end with balancing breathwork and a long
cozy savasana. You won’t leave empty handed! You'll bring home a Vata balancing Ayurvedic spice mix to cook or bake with. By making diet and lifestyle changes that counter the potentially harsh effects of each season,
you can better maintain balanced health throughout the year!
